The Horizon Makes Ambitious Projects Easier:
Here Are Four Examples |
Can a machine make you a better quilter or sewist? It sure can help. With extra working room, more ways to ensure precise measurement and stitching, and Janome stitch quality, the Horizon is the ideal machine for your next big project. |
The Lone Star Quilt
Also known as "The Morning Star," "Mathematical Star," and "Star of Bethlehem," this early American design demonstrates the height of quilting skills. But in order for all the points of the diamonds to come together, the seams have to be absolutely precise. The Horizon's angled needle plate markings, Superior Plus Feed System (SFS+), straight stitch plate conversion, and amazing precision worked together to make the bias seams and perfect corners. It's the perfect machine for any quilter.

Child's Laminated Cotton Rain Coat with Quilted Lining
This raincoat is made with the new laminated cotton fabric. It's great for keeping off the rain but can be tricky to sew with because the coated layers want to slide as you feed them under the needle. Using the Horizon's SFS+, you can sew multiple layers of "difficult" fabric without worrying about them shifting. It's a great machine for bulky garments.

Little Girl's Simply Sweet Heirloom Dress
When doing the kind of heirloom sewing needed to complete this dress, your machine must be good at delicate tasks. You're working with tiny seams and you do intricate work like insertion, entredeux, edging and beading. With the precision and control of the Horizon, heirloom sewing is fun and relaxing. Your fabric feeds perfectly and your stitches are beautifully precise.

Decorative Stitch and Sheer Ribbon Pillow
How many decorative stitches will it take to go across the pillow? With the Horizon's Stitch Calculator you don't have to guess. Select Stitch 163. Press the Combine button, and press the Memory button to add the desired number of patterns. For the sample pillow, we used 13 patterns. After the patterns are added to the screen, touch the screen to activate the Stitch Calculator. Compare the measurement on the screen to the side length of the ribbon square. Adjust the number of patterns if necessary. Add a Memory Lockstitch, and sew along each of the sides!
